The 2023 model year promises to be an exciting one for Buick. Modest changes are expected in the Encore GX and Enclave. Another big question Buick fans are asking is whether 2023 will be the last year for the venerable Encore, which is entering the 11th year of its current generation. Here’s a look at what we know so far about Buick’s 2023 line-up. If you’d like to know more, don’t hesitate to contact us at Hiley Buick GMC of Fort Worth.

2023 Buick Encore GX

Buick's 2023 Lineup

The Encore GX has established its position over recent years as an affordable subcompact SUV with an upscale cabin. With an MSRP of around $24,500, it features a range of modern tech and quality materials that you’d expect to find in a more expensive car.

Thanks to the popularity of the Encore GX, Buick isn’t planning any big changes for 2023. The main alteration will be a new paint color option: Moonstone Gray.

You can choose from two engine options in the Encore GX. The first is a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged unit that’s fine for daily driving. It comes standard with continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive. If you step up to all-wheel drive, you get a larger 1.3-liter turbocharged engine that puts out 155 horsepower. This engine is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Keeping in mind that the Encore GX is in the subcompact SUV class, it has an impressively roomy cabin. Adult passengers can relax in comfort in both rows of seats, and there’s plenty of room for cargo at the rear. With both rows of seats in use, you’ll have 23.5 cubic feet of storage at the rear. Over 50 cubic feet of capacity opens up when you fold down the rear seats.

Buick Encore

Buick’s smallest SUV has also had the longest run in its current generation, reflecting its popularity among drivers looking for an affordable ride. If you’re considering purchasing a new Encore, 2023 could be the year to do it. Reports suggest that Buick is considering discontinuing the model as of the 2024 model year and focusing on developing the Encore GX.

The Encore is powered by a 1.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that cranks out 155 horsepower. The power train is completed by a six-speed automatic transmission. This setup is good for fuel efficiency, returning 24 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.

Inside the cabin, the Encore has adult-friendly seating in both rows and just over 18 cubic feet of storage space at the rear. The infotainment system includes a 7-inch screen and six-speaker stereo, as well as various connectivity options. You get good value for your money, keeping in mind that the Encore’s MSRP is around $25,000.

Buick Envision

Buick’s luxury compact crossover is hitting showrooms for 2023 with a few new paint color options. Apart from this change, Buick is sticking with a formula that has helped the Envision make its presence felt in the hotly contested premium compact crossover class.

The 2023 Envision will be powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine capable of generating 228 horsepower. It combines with a nine-speed automatic and front-wheel drive in the Envision’s base setup. All-wheel drive is an optional upgrade.

The Envision invites you to relax in its spacious cabin. Even rear-seat passengers can enjoy almost 40 inches of legroom, which is plenty for adults or kids to ride comfortably. If you need to transport larger items, you can fold down the rear seats to open up over 52 cubic feet of cargo capacity.

If you really want to push the limits of luxury in the Envision, you should check out the range-topping Avenir trim. It includes leather upholstery instead of the cloth and synthetic leather offered in the base trim. You can also get ventilated and heated seats for additional comfort for front-seat passengers.

2023 Buick Enclave

Buick hasn’t announced any major updates to the three-row Enclave for the 2023 model year. With a capacity of seven passengers, the Enclave is the Buick to go for if you have a large family or regularly travel with groups of friends. If you’d like to introduce a little more comfort into the cabin, you can swap out the second-row bench seat for captain’s chairs, which reduces passenger capacity to six.

Even with a full load of passengers, this Buick provides plenty of cargo-carrying options. It has over 23 cubic feet of storage behind the third row. And if you need to take something larger along for the ride, you can tow up to 5,000 pounds. That’s more than enough for a modest camper or a boat.

The 2023 Enclave will be powered by a 3.6-liter V-6 engine capable of generating 310 horsepower. This engine provides plenty of power to get the Enclave moving while also achieving decent fuel economy for the mid-sized SUV class. Gas mileage is expected to be 18 mpg on city roads and 26 mpg on the highway for the Enclave.

The 2023 Enclave will be equipped with a great selection of infotainment tech, including an 8-inch display. Wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a navigation system will also be included. In addition, it features a long list of driver safety features, such as forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and parking sensors.
