The 2022 Terrain AT4 looks ready for an adventure with its unique off-road styling cues and features. It has an exclusive AT4 grille and badging, black chrome accents, a sleek curved profile, black lower body trim, a sporty rear end, and unique 17-inch gloss black wheels with Goodyear Sport Terrain tires. Distinctive C-shaped front and rear signature lighting ensure the AT4 is unmistakable by day or night.

The AT4’s exterior features include a steel front skid plate, automatic LED headlights, daytime running lights, fog lights, proximity keyless entry, heated power mirrors with integrated turn signals, color-keyed mirror caps and door handles, black roof rails, rear roof spoiler, and LED taillights. Accessing the roomy cargo area is accessible with the hands-free, programmable power liftgate that takes a wave of your foot under the rear bumper to open. The liftgate also features an LED logo projection to light your way at night.

Punchy Performance

Under the Terrain, AT4’s hood is a responsive turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 170 hp and 203 lb-ft of torque to the standard all-wheel-drive system. It’s mated to a smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission. In the city, with its automated stop/start system, the AT4 will return up to 24 mpg, while highway driving will give you up to 28 mpg.

The AT4’s compact dimensions and agile handling make navigating the Fort Worth city streets easy while out on the highway; it offers a quiet and refined ride. The cabin stays peaceful thanks to the acoustic laminated windshield and active noise cancellation, which also helps eliminate vibrations.

When you head off the beaten path, the AT4 has a traction select system with an off-road mode for when the going gets tough. Hill-descent control provides you with a smooth and controlled descent on steep grades and uneven surfaces. In everyday driving conditions, you can select FWD mode to disconnect the rear axle and optimize your AT4’s fuel economy. Despite its small size, the AT4 gives you a towing capacity of up to 1,500 pounds so that you can take more gear on your adventures.

Spacious and Versatile Cabin

The Terrain AT4’s deceptively spacious cabin is as unique as its exterior, with its distinctive interior accents and black trim. It features jet-black perforated leather seats with contrast stitching and AT4-embroidered front head restraints.

It can carry five people comfortably and 29.6 cubic feet of gear. Folding down the 60/40-split folding and reclining rear seats gives you a generous 63.3 cubic-foot cargo area. The front passenger seat back also folds flat, enabling you to load items up to 8 feet in length.

For comfort, the AT4 offers heated front seats, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a six-way power passenger seat, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, and ambient lighting. Deep-tinted rear glass adds a touch of privacy and reduces glare from the sun.

Other interior features include remote start and push-button start, cruise control, a 4.2-inch multicolor driver information display, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and front sill plates. The 110-volt power outlet and two 12-volt outlets allow you to plug in your electrical items and charge your mobile devices.

Technology

Helping keep you connected and entertained is the GMC infotainment system, now with a new 8-inch high-resolution touch screen. The system offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Wi-Fi hot spot capability, Bluetooth for media streaming and hands-free calling, voice recognition, satellite radio, two front and two rear USB ports, and an SD card reader. The AT4 also offers OnStar and GMC Connected Access capability for peace of mind on the road.

Optional infotainment upgrades include a built-in navigation system and Amazon Alexa. You can ask Alexa to make calls, get directions, stream music services, change the radio station, and more. The standard audio system has six speakers positioned throughout the cabin for high-quality sound. You can also choose a seven-speaker Bose audio system for outstanding sound reproduction.

The AT4 comes standard with a high-definition rear vision camera that gives you a clear view of the area behind your vehicle when reversing. You could upgrade to an HD surround vision system, which uses multiple cameras to give you an overhead view of your AT4 to help you park and avoid obstacles. Another optional tech feature is a 6-inch head-up display.

AT4 Safety Features

Helping keep you on track are the AT4’s electronic stability control, traction control, and hill-descent control. Safe and confident stopping is assured by the four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with performance brake linings.

The GMC Pro Safety suite of driver assist technologies is standard for the AT4. It includes a following-distance indicator, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, and automatic high beams. Other standard safety features include a tire pressure monitoring system, teen driver settings, and a rear seat reminder that alerts you to check the back seats before leaving your vehicle.

You can choose to add GMC Pro Safety Plus, which offers a side-blind zone alert, lane change alert, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking assist. Adaptive cruise control and front and rear parking assist are also available safety options.
