How to Connect Buick IntelliLink Infotainment System

Buick Intellilink can connect with any mobile device that offers a Bluetooth connection. You just need to ensure that the Bluetooth connectivity service is activated on your mobile device and that your mobile device is discoverable. Once this is done, your Buick Intellilink should be able to find and connect to your device.
You can connect your mobile device to Buick Intellilink in a couple of different ways — either via your vehicle’s Push to Talk voice commands or manually on your infotainment system via the radio screen or color touch screen.

Connecting to Buick Intellilink Via Voice Commands

If you’re pairing via voice commands, follow these steps:

• Press the Push to Talk button on the screen, and then say “Bluetooth.”
• The system will say “Bluetooth Ready” and beep in response.
• Say “Pair” after the beep.
• The system will say, “Please start a search on your Bluetooth phone.”
• From your phone, initiate a search for all available Bluetooth connections. You’ll see your vehicle in the list of available connections. Select that vehicle from the list.
• You’ll see a four-digit code on the screen of the vehicle and will be asked to enter that code into your phone, or you’ll see a six-digit code on your device that should match the code on your radio screen. Either enter the code on your device or confirm that the codes match.
• Select “Yes,” “Accept,” or “Always Allow” if the system prompts you to accept the connection or allow phone book access/download. This process will enable you to use contact dialing while driving.
• Your device should now be paired with your Buick Intellilink system.

Connecting Manually Via Your Infotainment System

If you’re pairing your phone with a radio screen:

• Push the “CONFIG” or “Phone” button on the controls of your instrument panel, which you can find right below the screen.
• Select “Phone Settings” on the screen using the “MENU” knob.
• Select the option for “Pair Device (Phone).”
• When the radio display screen prompts you to start a Bluetooth search on your phone, start the pairing process on your mobile device.
• From your phone, start a search for available Bluetooth connections. You’ll see your vehicle in the list of available connections, identified by its make and model. Select the vehicle from the list.
• You’ll see a four-digit code on the screen of the vehicle that you are asked to enter into your phone, or you’ll see a six-digit code on your device that should match the code on your radio screen. Either enter the code on your device or confirm that the codes match.
• Select “Yes,” “Accept,” or “Always Allow,” when the system prompts to accept the connection or allow phone book access/download. This final step will enable you to use contact dialing while driving.
• Your device should now be paired.

If you’re pairing your phone via a 7-inch color touch screen or an 8-inch color touch screen:

• Press the “HOME” button on your color touch screen.
• Touch the “Phone” screen icon or press the phone button.
• Next, select the “Search Device” option on your touch screen menu.
• Choose the device you want to pair from the menu. If your mobile device does not appear on the list, make sure your device has Bluetooth is turned on and that the phone is discoverable.
• If your phone supports Simple Secure Pairing (SSP), the Buick Intellilink will pair with your phone automatically.
• If your phone doesn’t support SSP, you will be asked to enter or confirm a code that will be displayed on the infotainment screen.
• Select “Yes,” “Accept,” or “Always Allow” if prompted to accept the connection. This last step will enable you to use contact dialing while driving.
• Your device should now be paired.
