TOP 5 WHISKEY DISTILLERIES IN FORT WORTH
If you like whiskey, you may enjoy visiting one of the several distilleries in the Fort Worth area. A tour can provide you with the opportunity to learn more about the process of making whiskey and the history of a distillery and sample some of its products. While many people think of Kentucky when it comes to whiskey in the United States, Texas is home to a wide range of excellent ones. We’ve created this list to help you learn more about some of the top whiskey distilleries in the Fort Worth area of the state.

Trinity River Distillery
Trinity River Distillery is a veteran-owned and operated distillery nestled along Trinity River in the historic Ranch Style Beans Plant building. It’s home to Silver Star Spirits, which has a local award-winning line of whiskey and vodka. The distillery uses Texas rainwater in all of its spirits, making it a true local creation.
Visit Trinity River Distillery to see for yourself why it previously received recognition as Best Brewery/Distillery in the Best of Fort Worth. Take a tour of the distillery, or pay a visit to the tasting room to sample a selection of Silver Star Spirits. The distillery also has a bar and a family-friendly Whiskey Garden where you can enjoy a cocktail. While the distillery doesn’t make food in-house, it typically brings local food trucks for you to order from during your visit.

Acre Distilling Co.
Acre Distilling Co. is a national and local award-winning distillery. Located in the historical neighborhood nicknamed “Hell’s Half Acre,” this distillery sources local ingredients to create its vast menu of spirits. It produces more than 18 different products, including a variety of bourbon, flavored liqueurs and cordials, gins, rum, vodkas, and whiskey. Its spirits have helped this distillery earn distinctions such as being named one of the Top 5 Whiskey Distilleries in 2022 at the U.S. Open Whiskey & Spirits Championship and one of the 10 Best Craft Distillery Tasting Rooms in America by Vinepair.
Acre Distilling Co. offers public tours and tastings that take you through the production floor and include samples of a selection of its award-winning products. If you’d rather skip the tour and head straight to the samples, head to Hell’s Half Acre Bar. It serves a selection of cocktails and mixed drinks, all made with Acre Distilling products, including some exclusively available at the downtown location. It also has a selection of appetizers, non-alcoholic beverages, and coffee and espresso drinks from Avoga Coffee Roasters.

Blackland Distillery is a full-service distillery and cocktail lounge. Founded by Fort Worth native Markus Kypreos, it produces a variety of spirits like bourbon, gin, vodka, and whiskey. Each spirit has a true Texas foundation thanks to the partnership the distillery has with TexMalt of Fort Worth to source locally grown Texas grain.
Blackland Distillery regularly hosts a variety of tasting and tour sessions. Each experience allows you to tour the distillery, sample a flight of spirits, and enjoy your choice of cocktail from the menu. The distillery is also home to a full-service lounge, bar, and tasting room. Dubbed the Best Lounge of 2020 by Fort Worth Magazine and the Bar of the Year 2020 at the CultureMap Tastemaker Awards, it offers a rotating menu of specialty cocktails, bottles, and a small selection of appetizers.

Firestone & Robertson Distilling Co.
Firestone & Robertson Distilling Co. opened in 2012 as the first whiskey distillery in Fort Worth. It offers a selection of award-winning whiskey and bourbon, and finishes each of its bottles with a custom-made cap crafted from repurposed leather and custom wood rings, adding a visual representation of the classic Western craftsmanship that goes into each bottle of spirits.
Visit Firestone & Robertson Distilling Co. at its second distillery location called Whiskey Ranch. It opened this location to increase the production of its TX Whiskey and TX Bourbon products and to have a place for people to come enjoy the products. At 112 acres, the Whiskey Ranch property is the largest whiskey distillery west of the Mississippi River. The property includes a visitor’s center, a store, a tavern, a private event space, and a covered patio, and it’s possible to take a tour of the grounds.

BENDT Distilling Co.
BENDT Distilling Co. is a small-batch whiskey distillery founded by couple Natasha and Ryan DeHart. The distillery uses local ingredients for its whiskey production, including grains from MBS Seed in Denton and malt from Maverick Malt House in Wildorado and TexMalt in Fort Worth. Once BENDT finishes using the grains for distillation, it distributes them to local farms to feed cattle.
BENDT Distilling Co. offers public and private tours on the weekends. If you visit the distillery otherwise, enjoy a selection of seasonal cocktails in the tasting hall or whiskey garden. The distillery also offers a variety of appetizers and small plates.
