At Hiley Buick GMC, we're proud to be located in one of the largest, most bustling cities in America. Fort Worth, Texas was established antebellum in 1849. Since then, it's had a long and prosperous history, growing to become the 16th largest city in the country. Fort Worth started as an Army outpost that overlooked the Trinity River. When the Chisholm Trail was established as a route for driving cattle across the country, Fort Worth became a major stop. It soon became a primary location for cattle drives as well as the ranching industry, earning the nickname: "Cowtown."
Needless to say, there's much more to see and do in Fort Worth today than just cattle-related things (though there are still many cows present). The world-class Kimbell Art Museum is a mere 15 minutes away from Hiley Buick GMC. Applauded for its gorgeous architecture designed by Louis I. Kahn, the art museum features permanent galleries and rotating exhibitions.
But the Kimbell Art Museum certainly isn't the only place in Fort Worth to get a glimpse of the arts. Near the Kimbell you'll find the Amon Carter Museum of American Art and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, all located in the Cultural District and just a quick drive from Hiley Buick GMC. And if music is your preferred form of artistic expression, Fort Worth has plenty of that available too. The Van Cliburn International Piano Competition is held here every four years, with a competition being held this year.
However, if you're still stuck on the city's cattle-driven nickname and want to explore that side of things, we suggest you take a trip to the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. Located on the north side of town, the Stockyards celebrate Fort Worth's cattle industry with daily cattle drives, walking tours, and more. The Stockyards are fun for families and individual explorers, and are the best place to catch a glimpse of Fort Worth's history.
The Hiley auto group holds its own historical value in the Fort Worth community since the early 1990s. Randy Hiley moved to Fort Worth and started working with a Ford Dealer, later getting approval from GM to open one of the country's first Saturn dealerships. For the last 2+ decades Hiley has grown into a large auto group including the Hiley Buick GMC location, becoming one of the top Buick & GMC locations in Texas and selling to and servicing hundreds of customers per month.
